Our Beginning

Ayka Addis opened in Alem Gena – Ethiopia's first large-scale integrated textile and apparel company. This groundbreaking investment laid the foundation for what would become a leading textile powerhouse.

2010–2023Growth Era

Years of Growth

Fifteen years of steady expansion, new technologies, and thousands of jobs created in Ethiopia. Through continuous innovation and commitment to excellence, the facility established itself as a premier textile manufacturer.

2023Incorporation

New Chapter

Buluko was established as a public company – strengthening Ethiopia's role in Africa's textile industry. This strategic move positioned the company at the forefront of African textile manufacturing.

July 2023Acquisition

Major Milestone

Buluko acquired Ayka Textile's full operations in a landmark 1.82 billion Birr deal. This strategic acquisition created a unified and strengthened textile manufacturing operation.

Oct 2023Rebranding

Rebranding

All former Ayka facilities became Buluko Textile – marking a fresh identity and future vision. October 1st marked the transformation of all facilities, including the flagship Alem Gena site, into Buluko Textile factories.
