From our 2010 foundation in Alem Gena through 2026 and into the future, explore the pivotal moments of our evolution.
Ayka Addis opened in Alem Gena – Ethiopia's first large-scale integrated textile and apparel company. This groundbreaking investment laid the foundation for what would become a leading textile powerhouse.
Fifteen years of steady expansion, new technologies, and thousands of jobs created in Ethiopia. Through continuous innovation and commitment to excellence, the facility established itself as a premier textile manufacturer.
Buluko was established as a public company – strengthening Ethiopia's role in Africa's textile industry. This strategic move positioned the company at the forefront of African textile manufacturing.
Buluko acquired Ayka Textile's full operations in a landmark 1.82 billion Birr deal. This strategic acquisition created a unified and strengthened textile manufacturing operation.
All former Ayka facilities became Buluko Textile – marking a fresh identity and future vision. October 1st marked the transformation of all facilities, including the flagship Alem Gena site, into Buluko Textile factories.
Full-scale integrated operations across spinning, knitting, dyeing, and garment production with global ISO standards.
